The 25^_th Universiade had been opened in Belgrade on July the 1^st .This universiade will host 8500 athlets from 145 countries, and they will compete in 15 different sports. Participants will be hosted in newly constructed residential area Belville in Belgrade Block 67. Opening ceremony was held in nearby Belgrade Arena Hall. After the Olympic Games, Universiade is the biggest sporting event which could be hosted at one country, and cycle is every two years, and only FISU members could apply. Universiade 2009. will end at the closing ceremony on the July the 12^th . You could see some Belville images from april this year, in our gallery.

After the entrance of the Moscow Bank to the Serbian market, Gazprom Bank will also join. Serbian Petroleum Industries, were purchased by Russian company Gazprom Neft, and after that it will also enter the banking market with their own bank. Most probably Gazprom bank will take over local Universal bank, because it is far more easier and faster to take over some domestic bank instead of building a new one. Negotiations are almost over, fist price was 200 million Euros but, now due to the ingoing financial crisis it could be almost half of that value.
Gazprom company has share of 41,73% in Gazprom Bank, while 42,89% belongs to the Lider investment fund, approximately 7% is owned by Gazprom retirement fund, and 6,3% by company "New Financial Technologies."
