New investment opportunity in Serbia Energy Industry

 Due to high power consumption, current power plant aren't able to support market demands, new investments in energy industry are necessary. During January Serbian Energy Corporation(EPS) will start on preparations for new energy policy and expanding current capacities. Hence new investors in energy sector are required.

Almost half power that is used in Serbia is produced in power plantt "Nikola Tesla" in Obrenovac, town near Belgrade. During last year final 6th block of that power plant was renewed, and redesigned for higher power load. Hence it's service period is expanded for 15 more years.

Soravia is building 55 million dollar hotel in Belgrade

 Austrian hotel group "Soravia" will build hotel in Belgrade. Estimated project value is 55 million euros. Construction should start in June this year and new building will have 250 rooms, and it will be located in exclusive part of Belgrade. This project will be done with partnership of Soravia, EBRD and ERSTE bank. Each participant will own one third of the hotel.

338 million dollar loan for Corridor 10 construction

Corridor 10Serbian government took loan from World Bank for construction of Corridor 10. Loan is 338 million dollars, and it will be used for finishing several sections of the Highway. First section is from Dimitrovgrad town to the Bulgarian border. From Grabovica to the Grdelica, and from Vladicin Han to Neredovci. World Bank stated that construction of those sections will improve road safety and efficiency of transport in Serbia. Head of the World Bank office in Serbia Simon Gray stated that this loan will help Serbian economy in ongoing financial crisis.

Universiade 2009 Opened

UniversiadeThe 25th Universiade had been opened in Belgrade on July the 1st .This universiade will host 8500 athlets from 145 countries, and they will compete in 15 different sports. Participants will be hosted in newly constructed residential area Belville in Belgrade Block 67. Opening ceremony was held in nearby Belgrade Arena Hall. After the Olympic Games, Universiade is the biggest sporting event which could be hosted at one country, and cycle is every two years, and only FISU members could apply. Universiade 2009. will end at the closing ceremony on the July the 12th . You could see some Belville images from april this year, in our gallery.

 
South Stream pipeline will cost 700 million euros

PipelineSouth Stream pipeline will enter Serbia near Zajecar city near eastern Serbian border, and main knot will be near Belgrade suburb Batajnica, where pipeline will branch into 2 routes, one towards Hungary at the north, and other towards Bosnia & Herzegovina towards west. Pipeline construction will be financed by mutual company formed by SerbiaGas and Russian Gazprom. New bank will be founded by two companies, instead of only Gasprom, which was the original plan. future pipeline will cost at least 700 million euros. With finish one of the largest pipelines in Europe, because of it's geographical position Serbia will become regional "energetic knot" and leading energy distributor in the region. Also few natural gas power plants are being planed for construction with nominal power of 450 MW. SerbiaGas will participate in Energy Summit at SantPeterburg, where could be arranged to construct another natural gas storage facility in Serbia, even larger than existing one near town of Banatski Dvor. After modifications, Banatski Dvor facility will have capacity approximately to 300 million cubic meters of natural gas.
Estimated project finish is 31. December of year 2015. and pipeline capacity will be at least 20 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year.
