First robot factory in Serbia |

First factory for manufacturing of robot lines for factories was opened in Serbia, by domestic ICM Electronics company. Factory is located in small town of Platicevo, near Ruma city. Production capacity is 50 robots per year. According to the company CEO, for 15 years of existence they were cooperating with more than 3000 companies from Serbia and rest of the World. ICM Engineers have robotized over hundred production lines, and this factory is sign of endeavors to provide clients with quality robotized production lines. For starters company is targeting local market, but there are plans for entrance to the internal market to. |

Serbia received 400 million euros from selling the National Petroleum Industries |

Serbian Government signed the contract with Russian company Gazprom on December the 24th 2008, where was agreed to sell Serbian National Petroleum Industries to the Russian company Gazprom Neft, which is member of Gazprom corporation, for 400 million euros for 51% of the company. Also both sides agreed to allow the construction of the Russian pipeline “South stream” which will enable transit of the Russian natural gas to the Serbia, remaining Balkan countries, and further to the EU. Together with Russian pipeline investment, also existing Serbian gas storage facility in Banatski Dvor will be reconstructed and upgraded, and National Petroleum Industries will receive additional 547 million euros of investments by Russian side by year 2012. |

FIAT is taking Serbian "Zastava Motors" |

Serbian company “Zastava Motors” which is owned by Serbian government signed contract with Italian company “FIAT”. It is agreed for Zastava to integrate into the FIAT and produce 15 000 cars this year, by FIAT license. Whole arrangement is downsized and delayed because of the World Financial Crisis, but FIAT still has strong intentions to invest in Zastava, especially because of multiple Serbian trading agreements with many neighboring countries which, will provide solid market for newly produced cars, which will cost lower than competition. Joint investment contract was signed on September the 29th year 2008, total project value is 950 million euros, and it will employ 4750 additional workers. Production of FIAT Punto should start in March 2009. |

Serbia is investing in infrastructure |

Serbian government will invest 472 million euros in major infrastructure projects as response to the global economy crisis. These investment funds will be utilized for development and further construction of Pan-European Corridors 7(river Danube) and 10(Motorway&Railway), also one part will go to the national air-transport company: JAT Airways. Also Government will give loans for industry in total value of 1,36 billion euros, while additional 285 million euros will be loaned to the companies through Entrepreneur Development Fund. |

Open competition for construction of the Horgos-Novi Sad highway
Estimated value of the whole road is 150 million euros. It has been planed to complete the construction within 18 months. This road represents the most important section for completion of the Pan-European “Corridor 10” through Serbia. By end of September Serbian Government should acquire remaining 1,66 billions of euros for remaining sections. European Bank for Reconstruction and Development promised credit worth 150 million euros, and European Investment Bank plans to approve credit worth 400 million euros. |
